== Map Resolution (Show Me Where ... Tab) == Depending on what the resolution of the map is, a sampled selection of cells on the map will be displayed. The resolution of the map is shown in the lower left portion of the map window. === How does the sampling work? === Each cell represents one hectare. There are 8 levels of resolution to choose from. They are as follows: * 1:16384 - for every 16384 hectare cells, one is displayed * 1:4096 - for every 4096 hectare cells, one is displayed * 1:1024 - for every 1024 hectare cells, one is displayed * 1:256 - for every 256 hectare cells, one is displayed * 1: 64 - for every 64 hectare cells, one is displayed * 1:16 - for every 16 hectare cells, one cell is displayed * 1:8 - for every 8 hectare cells, one cell is displayed * 1:4 - for every 4 hectare cells, one cell is displayed * 1:1 - every cell is displayed === How will this affect what is displayed in the map window? === If you run a query for all the hot springs in the province, it is likely that you will not see any points displayed on the map. The chances that a hot spring lies in a hectare cell that is sampled at a resolution of 1:128 is very unlikely.
