Land Characterization

  • Have a new definition of BC that is clipped to the coastline
    • Drag over "Distance To Road > 0" and zoom into the coastline
    • BC Source: Coastline and Land Border of BC, Crown Land Regsitry Services (Surveyor General) 1:250,000 NTS

  • Inventory type groups have been updated to include species names

    • Click on zoom to location tool
    • Change basemap to BC Grids

    • Click 'OK'; Explain how you are zoomed to the mapsheet
    • Now, zoom to BC Albers - click on zoom to location tool
    • Select BC Albers and enter (1193450,384400) & click 'Go'; This should zoom to the Victoria area.
    • Open up the dialog box and show what happens if you enter an invalid BC albers coordinate.
  • Data Drill
    • Click on data drill tool
    • Click on a location. Explain popup contents.
    • Drag over some layers into the formula.
    • Click on a location. Explain the 'Visible Layers' section.

Summary Tab

  • Pick summary from the drop down list and click the 'Export' button - highlight how the resolution has been added

My HaBC Tab

  • Refresh button in Batch Queue list
  • Invalid Queries will be greyed out - Updates roads layer so some of you might find your saved queries greyed out
  • Show nicely formatted formula column and more/less button.

Raster Data

  • Talk about the export limit (3) layers & why it was implemented (keep package size down and prevent large batch queue jobs).
    • Drag over four layers
    • Export the layers and explain the warnings that were shown.

Administrator Interface

  • Open Administrator Interface
    • Talk about login and login( habcadmin/******)
  • Welcome Tab
  • HaBC Statistics Tab
    • Tab displays statistics about various parts of the Hectares BC system
      • Layer Statistics - all layers used in queries or exported (counted once per query use)
        • Refresh Table - refreshes the data; Reset Layer Statistics - clears the table
      • Batch Queue Statistics - information about the batch queue and processing time.
      • Search Statistics - search terms
      • Google Analytics - link and login information
      • Webalizer
  • Login Accounts
    • Lists all logins
    • You can delete an account (this deletes corresponding queries and batch queue items)
    • You can refresh the table
    • You can change the admin password
  • Batch Queue
    • Views all items in the batch queue with a summary and allows you to delete items
  • Public Query List
    • Allows you to view public "Show Me Where..." and "How Much ... " Queries
    • "Invalid Queries" are greyed out
