Deploying User Documentation
Currently the user documentation is being written using WinCHM Prov 3.37.
The current version of this software resides on: vm-services
The current working directory for the user docs: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\Projects\HaBCUserDocs
To convert from the WinCHM software to the Hectares BC Web Application follow these steps:
1. Open WinCHM Pro Software
2. Select the Hectares BC Project on the local hard drive (see above for full location).
3. Select 'Build' from the tool bar.
4. In the 'Build' dialog select 'Website Help'
5. Select any output folder
6. Click Start.
7. Close WinCHM Application and Internet Explorer.
In /opt/tomcat.../webapps/habc-help/ :
- In the scr folder, backup the 'Search Help.htm' file.
- In the icons folder, backup the find.gif file.
- Replace scr folder with new scr folder
- Replace icons folder with new icons folder
- Replace the section of the existing webhelpleft.htm that is between the "<!--ENDBAR-->" line and "</body>" line with the same section from the new webhelpleft.htm, except the section between the "<!-- CUSTOM SEARCH ITEM -->" and "<!-- END CUSTOM SEARCH ITEM -->" lines. This custom search section needs to be placed after the last index item, in the same location as in the old file.
- Change the "upangle.gif" image of the last index item to "tshaped.gif".
- Update the number after "LinkClick?" in the custom search item section to be one higher than the corresponding number for the last index item.
- Update the span id number in the custom search item section to be one higher than the corresponding number for the last index item.
- Restore the backed up files, 'Search Help.htm' and find.gif.
- Update the 'Search Help.htm'- (update number in the the "parent.nav.selectedNode(84)" line to match the number of the span id from 5.iii.)
8. Verify the Results
